Day 4 - White Cliffs, NSW to Tibooburra, NSW

James got up early to watch the sunrise at White Cliffs (they have a veiwing area for this purpose). The rest of us were too tired (lazy:-P) to get out of bed so let James go at take the photos!

We had breakfast at the White Cliffs underground motel and left there around 9. We decided to head to the opal shop (White Cliffs is known for its opal mining) and have a quick peek.

We got some petrol and then headed to Tibooburra. We went the round about way to get there. It involved a lot of dirt tracks and gate opening, which we left up to Dad to do!

We went the wrong way at one point and ended up on some person's private property! They weren't too happy lol but then gave us some direction afterwards.

We headed off on some small sandy tracks. They were really fun to drive on! We stopped for a sausage on the side of the road next to a swamp lol.

After our stop, we kept driving for awhile. We came across a whole pile of cattle being driven along the road by 2 girls on quads. That was pretty fun to see.

We arrived at Tibooburra around 4:30. We were suppose to camp tonight but we all chickened out lol and decided to stay one more night in a motel before attempting to camp hehe.

We went to the pub for a drink, it was quite full because they were having a special state of origin viewing. We had take away tea from the general store. The lady stayed open for us and made hamburgers which were yummy!

The pub was pretty cool. It had a lot of painting on the walls, including some done by Howard Steer who we met in Broken Hill.

The scenery constantly changes around he. Usually it's flat but it doesn't look much like desert at the moment because there is grass everywhere! It is an extremely rare occurrence but it's weird when you expect desert and it doesn't look like anything you imagine. Pretty cool though.

Anyway next stop is Cameron Corner! The place where NSW, SA and QLD meet.
