Day 5 - Tibooburra, NSW to Cameron Corner, QLD

After breakfast at the corner country store, we left Tibooburra around 10 and headed towards Milparinka, an old historic ghost town.

They had an information centre there, run by 2 nice old ladies, they thought I was 16 hehe! Anyway the place was quite interesting, and there was an old building set up with information about the mining history of the town.

We had a look around the town and I posed for some pictures with some statues!

After this picture, I fell (well really rolled lol) into a prickle bush and got a prickle stuck in my butt :-P

We drove a little further and had a look at Poole's grave near Milparinka. Afterwards we headed back to Tibooburra so we could fill with petrol and start towards Cameron Corner.

Cameron Corner only has one store and absolutely nothing else. It is the corner where 3 states meet (NSW, SA, and QLD).

We were told the road to Cameron Corner was quite bad, but it wasn't too bad. Only a bit corrugated in sections.
We finally found some area where it looked like real desert (how the desert looks normally) and not grassy so we decided to stop for a quick photo op :-P

There are also tons of birds around!

Afterward we stopped for a cup of tea outside Cameron Corner, at a camp site called Fort Worth.

We arrived at Cameron Corner around 3 and it was so packed! There were heaps of 4wds. It was so weird to see so many cars in such a remote place with nothing but one store there. I tried to get a photo of some of the cars, but there were heaps more than what I got in the pic.

We had a drink in the pub, it was really cool inside. The money on the roof is from paying for a camp site. It all goes to the flying doctors service.

Afterwards we headed off to find a camp site for our first night camping on this trip.
We used a tent we hadn't used before, so we had fun trying to put it up :-/
It was really windy trying to put up the tent which didn't help.

Success!

After we finished setting up the tent, we headed back to Cameron Corner to take photos of the corner marking that makes all 3 states. I put my hand in all 3 states at once lol.

We went back to camp to fix dinner and Dad and James tried repacking the cars because everything was packed stupidly. It is really cold here at nights so hopefully we will be warm enough in the tent.

Next stop Innamincka!
